GOSPEL  SOUNDS  CONCERT  &  PICNIC

 

Centre Street Church will host a special concert and picnic for the entire church family and the community.

 

 

DATE:  Sunday, August 24, 2003

 

TIME &  PLACE:

5:00 p.m. Picnic Covered-Dish Supper in Fellowship Hall

7:00 p.m.  Gospel Sounds Concert in Sanctuary

 

COSTS:  Bring your own meal and table-ware (including utensils)

               for the picnic.  Free will offering received at concert.

 

 

The Gospel Sounds Duet is a husband and wife team, Steve and Apryl Caldwell, from  Altoona,  PA.   Their  purpose  is  “to  present  quality ministry in music, so that lives can be changed through the presence of Jesus  Christ”.    Their   music  style  consists  of  traditional,  southern gospel,  country  gospel,  adult  contemporary,   and  praise & worship music.   They  have  recorded  music  and  traveled  extensively  in the Eastern USA.  Plan to come.  Invite your friends and neighbors.

Press Release for Concert

The Gospel Sounds Duet of Altoona, PA will be holding a special concert in the Cumberland area on Sunday, August 24, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. at the Centre Street United Methodist Church located at 217 North Centre Street. The concert will be one hour in length featuring a musical style of mixed gospel. A free will offering will be received.

The Gospel Sounds Duet consists of the husband and wife team of Steve A. and Apryl Caldwell who are committed to spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ through quality music so that lives can be changed. Their music style consists of traditional, southern gospel, country gospel, adult contemporary, and praise & worship music. It has been said that they have a perfect blended harmony. Their voices truly compliment each other and that their voices and their faces show the love of God.

The duet has traveled extensively in the eastern United States and beyond. They have ministered at churches, conventions, nursing homes, Salvation Armies, missions, rehabs, prisons, malls, and revivals. They are recognized as an official "evangelistic team" by the Salvation Army. They have also appeared on radio and television.

The Gospel Sounds Duet have also completed four recording projects including "It's Not Too Late" (1997); "Lead Me to the Rock" (1998); "The Moment" (2000); and "Most Requested Favorites" (200 1). They are currently preparing for a recording called "I'm Free" which is about salvation, forgiveness, hope, and encouragement for those in any type of addictions.

At the start of the Gospel Sounds Duet, Steve and Apryl had no idea how much God had planned for them. They knew they had the call to reach others through the medium of Christian music. The community is invited to attend this special concert. The free will offering helps the Gospel Sounds Duet defray their expenses.
