Dear Student and Family,

Cub Scouting is a FUN program for the entire family. It combines exciting indoor programs with outstanding adventures in the outdoors.

The programs are different for each school grade including: First grade Tiger Cubs; Second grad - Wolf Cubs; Third grade - Bear Cubs; Fourth grade - 1st year Webelos; Fifth grade - 2nd year Webelos.

These age appropriate programs allow each Cub Scout to learn new skills and receive badges as recognition for mastering these skills.

Activities, both indoor and outdoor, are both fun and varied. They include:

* Pinewood Derby, Space Derby & Raingutter Regatta.

* Cub Scout Day Camp and Webelos Resident Camp at our Camp Potomac.

* "Good Turn" service projects such as "Scouting for Food".

* Hikes, field trips, games, skits, etc. etc.

We know many boys play seasonal sports such as soccer, football, basketball, ice hockey and baseball.

However, since Cub Scouting is a year-round program, many, if not most, of our Cub Scouts play these sports in addition to Scouting, so don't opt out of the fun just because you play one or more of these sports.

We hope you will join us. Cub Scouting is an adventure!

Sincerely,

J. Jeffrey Hutter
Council President

Brad Burr
Executive Director
